Transcript of Hugues Ricour's video interview

Hugues Ricour:

I am extremely proud of what we presented this morning and our achievement : 14 games released, 350 people now working in AAA games. When we initially arrived in Singapore, people doubt we could have a triple A studio in this region; not only we found great talents, but on the top of that we developp great partnership and that gives us a very solid direction for the future..

Hugues Ricour:

We grow step by step. We developp some small games first and join the assassin's creed co-developpement, structure where we partner with ubisoft and we learned how to do level (Arts and level design) then step by step we added features so programming, gameplay, up to the point that today we are able to create our full games and in that transition we learnt how to do game service

Hugues Ricour:

First I want to give credit to all the team that builds the Ocean Technology. I am a producer at heart and I really want to thank all the programmers that have been involved. It has been really a continuous effort. Each generation of console allows us to push the bounders further with the simulations, the FX, the texture, the shape of the waves, and of course the ocean being physics space, it allows us also to add more gameplay iteracting with waves and ship. In Skulls and Bones we also added the wind, physical forces that participated to the gameplay stearing your ship and it seems that quest of new ideas, innovation in the gameplay is driving our passion.

Hugues Ricour:

Sometimes for the game developper it is a bit difficult to step back because we play the game everyday and going to E3 this year was a huge eye opener and to see the enthusiasm and how excited people are when they see the game for the first time. So this contact we had with our audience and fan is super reassuring.
